Johannes Kiel (14 April 1912 – 29 January 1944) was a German Luftwaffe ace and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross during World War II. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Johannes Kiel was killed on 29 January 1944 over Kirchheimbolanden, Germany. During his career he was credited with 25 aerial victories, 62 aircraft on the ground, 9 tanks, and 20 artillery pieces.
